My sunshine today!

So I was reading a friend's blog and she was talking about how one person made her day a whole lot better!

Well today was one of those days for me. I felt like I was Alexander in the story Alexander and the Terrible No Good, Very Bad Day. I started my day off at 5:00am when I was awoken by the terrible thunderstorms. I couldn't fall back asleep so I started my day frustrated and exhausted. Then it poured all morning which I am pretty sure makes the children crazy at school because they were exactly that...CRAZY!!!!!!!!! School only got worse as the day went on. I had to leave right when the children did, to go to a doctor's appointment where I waited forever to be seen. Then I had to go pick up a replacement gas cap for my car to HOPEFULLY fix the problem that is causing my check engine light to be on. Then I had to run a few more errands before heading home in terrible traffic, oh and did I mention I had been starving since about 2:00. We eat lunch at 11:00 and apparently didn't pack enough for lunch today:(
So....the thing that made my day SO much better was that I came home to my sweet roommate Meagan and a package of Coconut Dreams. Coconut Dreams taste exactly like "Samoas" the girl scout cookies, and I have been looking everywhere for them. Today....Meagan found them at Food Pyramid and bought them for me!!!!!

So thank you Meagan for being my sunshine today!!

Earthquake???

Did you feel the earthquake? was the question of the day.

I was at school teaching and during lunch we got an email letting us know an earthquake had happened around 9am. A few teachers had commented saying they felt it, but I for sure didn't. I am pretty sure we wouldn't feel or hear an earthquake in our classroom unless it split the room in two! lol Plus at 9am we are normally doing morning greeting or singing a song!!!! There is no way while singing and dancing you would be able to feel a little earthquake happen! Although I am thinking the children somehow knew something weird had happened because they were super crazy today!! I think the "secret" earthquake magically made them all hyper!!! lol Needless to say today I had my work cut out for me, but everyday is such a great experience for me and I wouldn't change any of them for anything!!!! I LOVE TEACHING!!!!!

Also, my day got a whole lot better around 4:30. I left school and went by the car wash to get a free wash (from my brother who works there) then he owed me a tank of gas for borrowing my car all last week. So I borrowed his credit car ran to fill up my car, and pick us up some dinner (on him)! I took dinner back to the car wash and we ate and talked there while he still worked. Thanks Matt for a great evening to my day!! If only the hubs was here for me to come home to!

Hope you had a great ending to your day as well!!

10-10-10

This weekend has been nice and relaxing!! Brad got into town late Friday evening so we just watched the rest of the OSU game on TV then went to sleep. Saturday morning we got up early to make breakfast and watch game day (of course). Then we headed into town to run some errands. We unloaded my brothers motorcycle from the truck that Brad had brought back up to Stillwater. Then we headed to downtown Stillwater to pick up a few treats from the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, and found out that the annual car show was going on! So we walked around for a bit then picked up our treats!! The cars downtown were awesome! We even got to see a Model T!!! Brad enjoyed some delicious chocolate covered strawberries and I enjoyed some chocolate covered pretzels! They were amazing!!! After picking up our treats we made a quick trip to Wally world for the fixins for Calzones, our dinner on Saturday night!! Last but not least we picked up a turkey pesto sandwich from Red Rock on the way home (Brad's weakness)! Sunday was spent working on homework, watching football, and finishing up an intense game of Mexican Train that we had started the night before!! I won of course!!

Overall it was a lovely weekend spent with my lovely husband!!!!

Ride for Kids 2010

This past Sunday my Dad participated in the Ride for Kids! It is a fundraiser for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation. My Dad spent weeks raising money with his group from Maxim Honda (where he bought his motorcycle.) He also participates in monthly rides to breakfast with the Maxim crew. Riding is his new hobby and even though I was so scared for him to get a bike, I have been on a couple rides and realized he is a really safe driver. So its all the other people I am scared of. lol Anyways he ended up raising over $1600 and had a great time meeting some of the kids. Brad and I went out to take pictures of the kids and all the bikers pulling away. There was probably over 300 bikers there for the ride! The kids were adorable and none of them looked sick which was the saddest part. We definitely take our health for granted, and it made me re-think about the things I am grateful for in life! The Maxim crew collectively raised $24,000, and overall this year's ride raised $131,205.71 which is awesome!!!!

Here are some pictures from the event!

Dad all ready to go!!

So proud of him!!
All the kids suffering from a pediatric brain tumor! Aren't they just presh!!!!

Congrats to all those who helped with this cause!!

Deep in the heart of TEXAS!!!!!

That's right this temporary Oklahoman is a true TEXAS girl at heart!!!

I went home this weekend to visit the hubs and my family again, and we spent the weekend doing what true Texans do in the fall. We went to a high school football game Friday night, and the State Fair of Texas on Saturday (not for that game with those 2 teams we don't like) but for the Texas sized fried food!!!

As I mentioned before, Brad and I went to our Alma Mater (Plano East Senior High) for a football game on Friday for the first time since freshman year of college. So it has been awhile since we reminisced about being part of a high school game! It was fun to get on the field and see an old coach!!

Plano Plano EAST EAST!!! Go Panthers!

Us with Ms. Simmons
The game was a blowout! East beat Plano West by a ton! It was weird going back and not really knowing anyone!

Then on Saturday we got up early to do some shopping, and then we headed to the State Fair on the dart train just before the game started to try and beat the crowd! Well the crowd wasn't exactly beat, but the weather was absolutely perfect!! It was Brad, my little brother Ryan, and I and we didn't ride any rides we mainly just tried the weird fried food and walk around through the exhibits!

On the train!!
Waiting in line for coupons!
Fried Frito Pie! yummy!!!
Fried Oreos!!! delicious!

Love this man sooooo much!
petting the kangaroos!!
I want a mini zebra!
Favorite part of the fair petting the animals!!
Brad throwing in some contest
Ryan throwing

In case you were wondering we did get a footlong corndog from the fair! I just didn't get a picture because we inhaled them so fast!!! I love fair food!!!! and I love spending time with my family!
