Moving...

Well we are officially all moved in (well almost) my brother is coming home today from Stillwater with the rest of my stuff that wouldn't fit in the truck! lol Lets just say I had more stuff than I thought I did! So once he gets here this evening he will come straight over so we can unload!!! Yesterday our new furniture arrived and let me tell you it is B-E-A-UTIFUL!!!! I cant wait till all the rooms are complete!!! We got a kitchen table and chairs and then a bedroom set for the master bedroom. We have been sleeping in the guest bedroom and showering in the master bath so it is a lot of walking back and forth. I am ready to sleep in our room!!!
Brad and I spent the morning looking for a mattress, and OMG there are so many options. We found the one that seemed to fit both of us well and it had a pretty price tag on it. Hopefully it will be here tomorrow! We also picked up our bedding this morning as well as curtains! Once it is all put together I will post some pics!!

What I am THANKFUL for....

I thought since next week I will be busy spending every waking minute with my family celebrating my most favorite holiday, I would do a post on what I am most Thankful for this year...

First and foremost I am thankful for my LORD and SAVIOR for giving me another wonderful year of life and memories. Although I thank Jesus everyday for his creation and love for me, I think Thanksgiving is the perfect time to reflect and look back on your year as a servant of Christ. Thank you Jesus!!

Next I am thankful for my family both new and old. This year I get to be thankful not only for my family but Brad's family as well.  They have been such a big part of my life for 5 years and now they are officially my family and I cant wait until we started our own family traditions.

I am thankful for my wonderful husband who has so graciously let us celebrate Thanksgiving in Houston with my family this year! Thanksgiving has always been the biggest holiday for me and most of my dad's 9 brother and sisters and their families meet up to celebrate!

I am thankful to have started all these new chapters in my life this year... Marrying the love of my life, moving one too many times, graduating college (well almost, come on Dec 18th), and starting new traditions with my new and bigger family.

I just cant express how much I love Thanksgiving!!!! It is seriously my favorite holiday!! I love Christmas almost just as much but I feel like Thanksgiving is one of those holidays that just sneaks up on you (unlike Christmas) and really makes you stop in your tracks and reflect. It is the perfect amount of time off from work and school to spend quality time with family. My favorite things about Thanksgiving are...

Of course the Thanksgiving feast!! The feast usually includes 2 turkeys, 1 ham, tons of mashed potatoes and gravy, rolls, green bean casserole, many different kinds of pie, cranberry sauce, stuffing, sweet potatoes, pistachio pudding, fruit salad, deviled eggs, and although this isn't part of our Thanksgiving meal we eat homemade tamales!!

Our Thanksgiving feast is ordinary yes (minus the tamales) but our Thanksgiving activities are anything but ordinary because my family gets all dressed up in camo, helmets, goggles, and guns. That's right I said guns.

Because my family goes paint-balling. We load guns with balls of paint and shoot each other. So I am thankful for unusual family activities and padded clothing!!!!

What are you thankful for this year?

Elizabeth

The perfect weekend!

So this post is a little late, but last weekend was truly the perfect weekend, as was this weekend. Last weekend Brad came up Stillwater so we could go to the Baylor vs. OSU game! It was the perfect weather for a football game!!

Go Cowboys...
Beat the Bears!

Meagan and Parker!

Us Girls!!

Let's GO POKES!!!!

Love this man!!!
Saturday evening we went on a double date with Meagan and Parker to the movies! We went and saw Due Date, and let me tell you... it was HILARIOUS!!!!! There were a few scenes that were unnecessary, but for the most part the movie was great!

Sunday Meagan hosted a shower at the house for a friend of hers so Brad and I kidnapped Remi and went and had a picnic in the park. It was the perfect weather once again, minus some gusty wind at times. We picked up Panda (chinese) and headed over to boomer to eat and play with Remi!! Since living at the Welsh residence I have fallen in love with their precious pooch!!

Isn't Remington (Remi for short) adorable?!?

Testing out the water

Running with the Hubs!

just presh!

So that was last weekend and this weekend was just as great! Meagan and Parker went to Colorado this weekend to visit their new niece for the first time! So Brad came up here so we could have a relaxing weekend alone!! And that's just what we did!!!! We cooked meals together, watched a lot of football (of course) How Bout Dem' Cowboys!!!! and watched a movie! It was the perfect weekend to my very stressful week. Now I am counting down the days until Thanksgiving!!!!

Top 5 resasons why I married Brad

Here are the top 5 reasons why I married/LOVE Brad...

  1. Well his looks would be an obvious reason...but honestly it wasn't the first thing that drew me to him!! (sorry babe) but it was how he would purposely walk by me every morning in high school just so he could see me and give me a hug! So incredibly sweet and such a great start to my day back then!!
  2. He loves his family and enjoys being around them and spending time with them! I love this quality about him because I am such a huge family person and so I love that we can both enjoy quality family time together with either family!
  3. He is such a hard worker and fully dedicates himself to his studies and his work. Who wouldn't want a hard working husband?!?
  4. He is so passionate about certain things like; the Lord, his family, OSU sports, UNC basketball, actually any sports at all!!!
  5. He is so romantic and spontaneous!! For example this week has been a terrible week for me I have been super stressed and overwhelmed with teaching and school, Brad and I haven't seen each other in 2 weeks, and I am so ready to graduate. So what does my super romantic husband do: sends me flowers!!! How sweet is that! I am not one that normally likes getting flowers because they die, but they were absolutely perfect and totally made my week so much better!!!

 Aren't they beautiful?!?

So thank you to my wonderful husband for cheering me up this week!!! I can't wait to see you tomorrow!!!

My sunshine today!

So I was reading a friend's blog and she was talking about how one person made her day a whole lot better!

Well today was one of those days for me. I felt like I was Alexander in the story Alexander and the Terrible No Good, Very Bad Day. I started my day off at 5:00am when I was awoken by the terrible thunderstorms. I couldn't fall back asleep so I started my day frustrated and exhausted. Then it poured all morning which I am pretty sure makes the children crazy at school because they were exactly that...CRAZY!!!!!!!!! School only got worse as the day went on. I had to leave right when the children did, to go to a doctor's appointment where I waited forever to be seen. Then I had to go pick up a replacement gas cap for my car to HOPEFULLY fix the problem that is causing my check engine light to be on. Then I had to run a few more errands before heading home in terrible traffic, oh and did I mention I had been starving since about 2:00. We eat lunch at 11:00 and apparently didn't pack enough for lunch today:(
So....the thing that made my day SO much better was that I came home to my sweet roommate Meagan and a package of Coconut Dreams. Coconut Dreams taste exactly like "Samoas" the girl scout cookies, and I have been looking everywhere for them. Today....Meagan found them at Food Pyramid and bought them for me!!!!!

So thank you Meagan for being my sunshine today!!

Earthquake???

Did you feel the earthquake? was the question of the day.

I was at school teaching and during lunch we got an email letting us know an earthquake had happened around 9am. A few teachers had commented saying they felt it, but I for sure didn't. I am pretty sure we wouldn't feel or hear an earthquake in our classroom unless it split the room in two! lol Plus at 9am we are normally doing morning greeting or singing a song!!!! There is no way while singing and dancing you would be able to feel a little earthquake happen! Although I am thinking the children somehow knew something weird had happened because they were super crazy today!! I think the "secret" earthquake magically made them all hyper!!! lol Needless to say today I had my work cut out for me, but everyday is such a great experience for me and I wouldn't change any of them for anything!!!! I LOVE TEACHING!!!!!

Also, my day got a whole lot better around 4:30. I left school and went by the car wash to get a free wash (from my brother who works there) then he owed me a tank of gas for borrowing my car all last week. So I borrowed his credit car ran to fill up my car, and pick us up some dinner (on him)! I took dinner back to the car wash and we ate and talked there while he still worked. Thanks Matt for a great evening to my day!! If only the hubs was here for me to come home to!

Hope you had a great ending to your day as well!!

10-10-10

This weekend has been nice and relaxing!! Brad got into town late Friday evening so we just watched the rest of the OSU game on TV then went to sleep. Saturday morning we got up early to make breakfast and watch game day (of course). Then we headed into town to run some errands. We unloaded my brothers motorcycle from the truck that Brad had brought back up to Stillwater. Then we headed to downtown Stillwater to pick up a few treats from the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, and found out that the annual car show was going on! So we walked around for a bit then picked up our treats!! The cars downtown were awesome! We even got to see a Model T!!! Brad enjoyed some delicious chocolate covered strawberries and I enjoyed some chocolate covered pretzels! They were amazing!!! After picking up our treats we made a quick trip to Wally world for the fixins for Calzones, our dinner on Saturday night!! Last but not least we picked up a turkey pesto sandwich from Red Rock on the way home (Brad's weakness)! Sunday was spent working on homework, watching football, and finishing up an intense game of Mexican Train that we had started the night before!! I won of course!!

Overall it was a lovely weekend spent with my lovely husband!!!!

Ride for Kids 2010

This past Sunday my Dad participated in the Ride for Kids! It is a fundraiser for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation. My Dad spent weeks raising money with his group from Maxim Honda (where he bought his motorcycle.) He also participates in monthly rides to breakfast with the Maxim crew. Riding is his new hobby and even though I was so scared for him to get a bike, I have been on a couple rides and realized he is a really safe driver. So its all the other people I am scared of. lol Anyways he ended up raising over $1600 and had a great time meeting some of the kids. Brad and I went out to take pictures of the kids and all the bikers pulling away. There was probably over 300 bikers there for the ride! The kids were adorable and none of them looked sick which was the saddest part. We definitely take our health for granted, and it made me re-think about the things I am grateful for in life! The Maxim crew collectively raised $24,000, and overall this year's ride raised $131,205.71 which is awesome!!!!

Here are some pictures from the event!

Dad all ready to go!!

So proud of him!!
All the kids suffering from a pediatric brain tumor! Aren't they just presh!!!!

Congrats to all those who helped with this cause!!

Deep in the heart of TEXAS!!!!!

That's right this temporary Oklahoman is a true TEXAS girl at heart!!!

I went home this weekend to visit the hubs and my family again, and we spent the weekend doing what true Texans do in the fall. We went to a high school football game Friday night, and the State Fair of Texas on Saturday (not for that game with those 2 teams we don't like) but for the Texas sized fried food!!!

As I mentioned before, Brad and I went to our Alma Mater (Plano East Senior High) for a football game on Friday for the first time since freshman year of college. So it has been awhile since we reminisced about being part of a high school game! It was fun to get on the field and see an old coach!!

Plano Plano EAST EAST!!! Go Panthers!

Us with Ms. Simmons
The game was a blowout! East beat Plano West by a ton! It was weird going back and not really knowing anyone!

Then on Saturday we got up early to do some shopping, and then we headed to the State Fair on the dart train just before the game started to try and beat the crowd! Well the crowd wasn't exactly beat, but the weather was absolutely perfect!! It was Brad, my little brother Ryan, and I and we didn't ride any rides we mainly just tried the weird fried food and walk around through the exhibits!

On the train!!
Waiting in line for coupons!
Fried Frito Pie! yummy!!!
Fried Oreos!!! delicious!

Love this man sooooo much!
petting the kangaroos!!
I want a mini zebra!
Favorite part of the fair petting the animals!!
Brad throwing in some contest
Ryan throwing

In case you were wondering we did get a footlong corndog from the fair! I just didn't get a picture because we inhaled them so fast!!! I love fair food!!!! and I love spending time with my family!
